Good Day in the Middle of the Week

We get to the middle of the week and realize we are half way to Friday...great feeling. Having a Good Day on Wednesday is extremely helpful even if the moon is in Scorpio. This water sign is very intense and doesn't let us off the hook for anything. We must answer all the questions asked and research the answers we do not know. The corporate community does well under this moon, as the power of the collective is strong during this period. We must all remember that communication is having its difficulties and that speaking may not be as fluid as we would like. On Thursday the moon will go off the radar for the day...as with this past Monday, Thursday will be a No Day. Two No Days in one week is a challenge. If you follow the rules of a No Day you may feel like nothing is getting done. Do what you can without actually doing. After 5pm on Thursday the Sagittarius Moon arrives giving us a renewed sense of humor and optimism.

How's your diet coming? What other resolutions did you make? January is waving goodbye and we are officially into the year, take off the tag: New Year. Valentines Day is next on the calendar and Sadie Hawkins has a birthday this month. Stay healthy. Stay aware.

Have the best day everyday.

Good Friday...

TGIF...Needless to say we are all happy when the weekend comes. Friday our moon remains in Virgo. Are you a bit tired from turning chaos into order? If you've been making lists and checking them twice, pat yourself on the back for good use of cosmic energy. How many void-of-course converts do I have out there? Consider yourself part of an elite group. When the cosmos is turning upside down you have the inside scoop. Take tomorrow for an instance. The Virgo moon goes off the radar about 6:30am and does not return until about 5:30pm in Libra. So...consider your daily-dos on Saturday to go NOT as planned. You can still get a lot done but don't put ink to the dotted line or make a promise you can't keep. Once the Libra Moon surfaces breathe a sigh of relief. Grab a partner and do things in two's. Get beautiful. Make a compromise. Negotiate like crazy. Stand your ground but make no decisions. All this will last until Monday till about 4:45pm.

Monday...Monday...just a heads up for all this weekend. The trickster planet, Mercury, will begin his backward waltz. You will feel its effect now. Did you forget something? Did I say that? and so on. Mars, the red planet, the downward trend on the market planet, will go direct (dance forward) on the 30th. Hopefully the checks will already be in the mail and Congress will not renege on the money to taxpayers. Because by April...things will be looking more promising.

And...in April "Belly of the Whale" releases on the first of the month. Be one of the first to preorder on http://www.amazon.com/lindamerlino.

Have the best day everyday.

Good Day in the middle-of-the-week

Middle of the week and what better time to say what is on your mind. Express yourself. Throw some drama into your world, don't just say it, spread your arms, make gestures and look the other person in the eye. The Leo Moon asks us to be center stage, to get the attention we seek. Beware only of the weird warp in the universe. Mars is going forward and Mercury dancing backward. Talk about confusing. If you feel a bit off balance or a tiny bit frustrated, or stressed or all of the above chalk it up to the Cosmos at half-time. Speaking of half-time in a few days I'll give you my version of who will win the Super Bowl...stay tuned.

Tomorrow the moon slides into Virgo. The blip is 5 minutes in the morning between9:43 and 9:48 (for those who are anal). Virgo will ask more of us in the way of order. Chaos is forbidden around the Virgo Moon...the clean up committee will be out in full force.

For those paying attention to the New Year resolution about staying healthy look to honey as an overall elixir for what ails you. Around since the Ancients and further back than that...honey (one teaspoon at night) could be the magic potion we've been in search of. This medical Holy Grail can cure almost anything. Be sure that it is not processed. Spend a little more to get the best. You are worth it.

Have the best day everyday...

A No Day Monday

Did you over sleep? Maybe you have the day off and it doesn't matter. This is a No Day all day. The kind where we do want to sleep late for the sake of sleeping in. The moon is in Cancer and maybe we could fool our selves into thinking that this moon is such a comfortable one that A No Day would not matter. Ah, but somehow it does. Just start off asking for something and see what happens. Not to mention that the forward-backward motion of Mars and Mercury this week is turning the cosmos into a roller coaster ride. Best advice is to stand still for a few minutes and get your bearings. Lots of stuff will be swirling and twirling in your universe but like a duck you have protection and if you stay calm all will slide off your back, no worries. Tomorrow is a full moon in Leo. Whatever was begun at the new moon should come to fruition. Express yourself, tomorrow is a Good Day for that.

How are you doing with your New Year resolutions? If number one wasn't taking care of yourself, then go in and change things. Stay healthy. Stay aware. Fight the fight.

Have the best day everyday.

Good Weekend

Yes, the word is Good. Good days. The weekend finds our moon in Gemini. This moon is busy. Walk, talk, stimulate. That's Gemini. Your hands are waving all about, your mind is calculating the next step and you are bored and need to find something else to do. Yes, Gemini. Fickled and witty. This moon is about communicating. If you need to travel or discuss your options do it this weekend. Next three weeks beginning on the 29th you will be tongue tied. On Sunday we switch to Moon in Cancer. That happens so early it doesn't even count. Cancer Moon is more about what you need to do to be comfortable. This is a nice moon to ask for what you need. Family is always a source of comfort.

This is where I usually tell you to stay aware, stay healthy. The thought occurs to me that even when we do this we are not always in control. Cancer comes uninvited, no gold engraved invitation. Live life to the fullest. Don't wait for something to happen on another day, use the china, put out the silver. This is your one chance. Take it!

Have the best day everyday.

Love that Taurus Moon for a Good Day

The sun shines bright here on the East Coast of the US. The moon has made her way into the sign of Taurus. She likes wearing the cloak of earth, this one in particular. Taurus is a placid and stable sign. The kind of energy that we can take easily with us as we navigate the planet. Taurus allows us to seek what we desire, to be the invited guest. Using her energy requires humility and awareness. Do not be greedy, it will backfire on you. Taurus is generous and what you plant will flourish but she is also stubborn and if you tread on the garden you will feel her rage. Like the bull in the field a Taurus Moon can only take so much nudging and then she snorts and lowers the horns. Enjoy Taurus Moon Good days today and tomorrow. After 9pm on Thursday she will go off the radar and return early-early in the morning Friday as restless as can be, in Gemini.

Cancer took one of our Kunati authors this week. It won the battle.

Something will take us down, some unknown that has been deemed our henchman. Death is a given, none of us get off the planet alive. All this sounds quite morbid. Reality is a hard pill to swallow. In the meantime let' make a pact to live everyday to its fullest, to have the best day everyday, to tell the people we love that we love them and to stay as healthy as we can and be aware.

Good Way to Begin the Week

The moon passed into Aries in the early evening and will remain with us until just after 11pm on Tuesday. We can expect people to be impatient over the next few days. Getting things done quick is preferred. Creative projects thrive and tempers can be short. Remember that the planet Mars rules Aries and that the backward motion makes the red planet a little subdued, a trifle weak. Aggression takes a more passive face but behind the mask lurks the warrior. Pick your battles over the next few days.

So the work week begins with a Good Day and this always bodes well. Use these days wisely. The planet Mercury is getting ready to waltz in reverse. We begin to feel the shift in subtle ways. Forgetting is one obvious symptom. Misplacing things is another. Be mindful that things will need to be repeated. Make lists. Projects abandoned might be taken up again. The actual "eye-of-the-storm" will be the 28Th of this month through to the 19Th of February. Don't expect the market to pick up...tactics of recovery may be those that were tried before and succeeded.

Have the best day everyday.

Weekend Moon in Pisces

There is a brief two-step from about 1-2pm today. That's a perfect time to go to lunch if you are EST. Others adjust appropriately. We have left the surprises, anxieties, stress and computer foul ups behind with the crazy moon in Aquarius. Now Pisces brings us a more fluid outlook (here on the East Coast that equates to rain). Only kindness matters. That is truly what the Pisces moon has to say. Unfortunately this moon is often used to deceive or drown in alcohol or for us to put on rose-colored glasses and bury our head in the sand. Get my drift?

Let's go back to the real meaning, to the core. Sacrifice is a hard swallow, but kindness often involves a measure of sacrifice. This is the weekend to peel back all your layers. Expose the real you, no pretenses. You will be surprised how good that feels. Focus on what you say and how it affects others. Be compassionate. Be aware. Stay healthy.

Today is a Good Day...have the best day everyday.

Anyone interested in a few Good Days?

Brace yourself for a few Good Days. The kind of Good Days that are unpredictable but exciting. The way life is meant to be lived. The moon has settled into the sign of Aquarius until about 1pm on Friday. This gives us enough time to tinker with technology (which is always a bonus of this moon). Friends are another plus. Spend time with some over the next forty-eight hours...get the engines of friendship started again after the idling of the holidays. Remember that this moon appears to be laid back, appears to be wearing bib overalls and chewing on a blade of grass, but don't be deceived. This moon requires structure. The kind of stay-within-the-lines that only an artist can understand. Rules are made, but not in the traditional format. If you are restructuring today or tomorrow be inventive. Aquarius is the inventor. Shake it up. This is the time to go out the front door.

How many have made New Year resolutions? I see a lot of hands up. Look back on history, how many have you kept in the past? Okay, let's start over. I have a few suggestions to add to your list.
1. Read more...read signs and thank you notes. That means write more which brings me to number two.
2. Write more...in journals, on envelopes, on napkins and on your hand.
3. Laugh more...when you are alone especially.
4. Tell someone special you love them...no occasion, no reason, just because tomorrow he or she could be gone.
5. Circle April 1, 2008 on your calendar. Belly of the Whale will be released. Preorder on Amazon.com right now and get a huge discount!!!
6. Stay healthy.
7. Stay aware.
8. Thank an angel everyday for watching over you.
9. Learn a new language.
10. Fight the fight.

Have the best day everyday.

First Monday in January is a Good Day

We are back to the routine. A Monday through Friday without a holiday and too much dessert or bubbly. There is something about the mundane that is comforting. Knowing that our daily-do's will go on as normal. Yah but...what is normal? Don't get too comfortable in your over-stuffed chair and your remote. Look out the window there is a big world out there...at least twice a week go out the front door not the garage or the back. If you are in an apartment take the stairs and not the elevator. Shake things up a little. The Capricorn Moon starts us off with structure and rules. This may not be the day to break from routine but Wednesday looks like a possibility. I am not suggesting that you break the law, only that you stay on your toes. Don't get so complacent that you miss opportunities.

Tomorrow the Capricorn Moon will be off the radar all day. This equates as a No Day. If you want to test the waters of experimenting outside your little box...Tuesday won't count but you could get a toe wet. Remember not to push the planet tomorrow. It is the Chinese New Year and the beginning of the Year-of-the-Rat. New Moon on the East Coast is at 6:37am. Celebrate! Wear red. How does a No Day bode for the Rat? Unpredictable at best. The year will not follow the rules. Perhaps Ratatouille will win for animation and best performance by a long-tailed rodent.

2008 is here and Belly of the Whale will be released in a few months. All my mention of staying aware and staying healthy comes from the theme of this book. I wrote it not knowing very much about cancer. Research and first-hand experience with family and friends brought me to an awareness level I never imagined. Cancer comes uninvited. It comes on a mundane day from out-of-the-blue and takes its victim to his or her knees and their caretakers with them. So shake your days up a bit...live a passionate life...live for living not for working. This is it...you get one chance. Stay healthy as best you can. Stay aware. Support those whose days will never be normal again.

Have the best day everyday.

Good Three Days

Weekend begins with a Good Day

Friday this week seems like Wednesday...no worries just about everyone feels this way. The moon shifted into Sagittarius this morning and brought with it some good luck. Be optimistic and maintain your sense of humor through Sunday. Most of us should get things accomplished throughout the weekend. These are the days when we feel quite good and perhaps we could over do in many ways. Do not promise more than you can deliver. Politicians will be doing enough of that for all of us. We have only a brief blip on Sunday before the moon slides into Capricorn. Hold off anything significant for the hour between 7:30 and 8:30pm if you can. After that people will get down to business, especially on Monday as the work week begins for real again.

Look over your list of New Year's resolutions and be sure there are one or two that pertain to staying healthy. Historically people tend to attempt better fitness and a change in lifestyle in January. Remember to stay aware and to reach out in your community to a friend or a family that is dealing with cancer. No one should fight the fight alone.

Have the best day every day.

Is it Monday?

How difficult is it to begin a week on a Wednesday? The whole day it will seem like Monday and then by Friday you will be totally confused. The best thing about a mid-week start is that a five-day work week becomes three. The moon is in intense Scorpio so don't fool around today. Honesty is not the word of the day, everyone is way too mysterious about what they did over the long weekend. Better not to ask too many questions, but someone is asking and the questions are not skimming the surface. When grilled expect very personal queries and you will have to maintain your composure and say nothing. Scorpio needs to know all and you need to keep some stuff to your self. Beyond that today is a Good Day so if you are starting the work week today...get in on time and impress the boss. Tomorrow the Scorpio Moon continues up until about 7:30pm after that the evenings content can be filled with needed reorganization from the chaos of the holidays.

2008. Undoubtedly we will struggle with remembering to write that number when putting a date. Keep in mind that those of us still standing must be thankful every day for another day. Never give up and never give in. Stay aware and when the night closes in: love is the answer.

Scribbled on a piece of paper, tacked to a bulletin board in Ruby Desmond's store is that phrase. You can order an advance copy of Belly of the Whale from Amazon today and find out more about Whale's Market, Ruby Desmond and Hudson Catalina.

Have the best day every day.
